Resurrection...

Resurrection...

after a three year hiatus, Italian House Blog is back. Started back in 2009 when we bought il Poggiolo, an 800 year old farm-house, the blog was full of the adventures and mis-adventures of finding, buying and renovating the house and garden. A trial by stone and mortar. Work came to a close in 2014 and so, the blog was transformed into short posts about living in the small village. Our il Poggiolo is in the village is Codiponte situated in the little known corner of NW Tuscany called the Lunigiana. Now in 2017, we would like to expand the scope of the blog again. Beside posts on our farm-house, village and the area of the Lunigiana, we seek to entertain and enlighten you on what it's truly like living in Italy, this irritating and yet never boring mixture of history, novelty and culture. I warn you: the range could be from shopping flea-markets, ordering dinner with a spoken menu to repairing your FIAT at the mechanic's to hanging out at the local bar on a Sunday afternoon.
